Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire together account for over 60 percent of the world's cocoa production. Ethiopia is the birthplace of Arabica coffee. Sourcing directly from cooperatives and certified processors at origin, rather than through European intermediaries, means better pricing, faster logistics, and the traceability that Turkish food manufacturers increasingly require from their supply chains.
Cocoa: West Africa's Flagship Export
Ghanaian cocoa (Forastero variety, COCOBOD-certified) is regarded as benchmark quality in the global confectionery industry, consistently graded Grade 1 with less than 3% defects and moisture below 7.5%. Ivorian cocoa from the Lac Region and Soubre origin zones matches this standard with slightly different flavour profiles preferred by some European and Turkish processors.
We supply fermented and sun-dried cocoa beans in 60 kg jute bags, as well as semi-processed products: cocoa butter (natural and deodorized), cocoa cake (10–12% fat and 20–22% fat), and cocoa powder (natural and alkalized) from certified processing facilities in Accra, Abidjan, and San Pedro.
Every shipment is SGS-inspected at origin for grade, moisture, and free fatty acid (FFA) content. Phytosanitary certificates and certificates of origin are issued by local authorities and are valid for Turkish customs clearance under the EU-Turkey customs union framework.
"Origin-direct procurement of cocoa adds real value, not just in price, but in traceability. Turkish chocolate and confectionery manufacturers facing EU sustainability due diligence requirements need documented supply chains from known cooperatives. That's what we provide."
- MEEI Hub Agricultural Sourcing DeskEthiopian & African Specialty Coffee
Ethiopia is the world's fifth-largest coffee producer and the recognized birthplace of Arabica coffee. The major growing regions, Yirgacheffe, Sidama, Harrar, Guji, and Limu, produce coffees with distinct, internationally awarded flavour profiles ranging from floral and citric (Yirgacheffe) to full-bodied and wine-like (Harrar).
We source both washed (wet-processed) and natural (dry-processed) green beans, sorted by screen size (Screen 15/16 and 17/18+) and graded to ECX (Ethiopian Commodity Exchange) standards, with Q-grader cupping reports available for specialty-grade lots above 80 cup score.
Beyond Ethiopia, we source Cameroonian Robusta for blending applications, Ugandan Arabica from the Mount Elgon highlands, and Rwandan fully-washed specialty Arabica from the Western Province. All origins offer phytosanitary certification and EUDR-compliant traceability documentation.
From farm cooperative to Turkish port: origin-direct cocoa and coffee with documented traceability.
Documentation, Logistics & Volumes
We manage the complete export logistics chain from origin: buying from cooperatives or certified exporters at source, coordinating fumigation and container stuffing at the port of origin (Tema, Abidjan, San Pedro, Djibouti), and organizing freight to Turkish ports (Mersin, Ambarlı, Izmir).
Standard lot sizes for cocoa start at 1×20FCL (approximately 18–20 MT of bagged beans). Coffee lots start at 1×20FCL (approximately 17–18 MT). Monthly and seasonal supply contracts are available for consistent buyers seeking predictable volume and pricing.
All export documentation, phytosanitary certificate, fumigation certificate, certificate of origin, quality and grade certificate, SGS weight certificate, and bill of lading, is prepared and verified by our origin-based logistics partners before container release.
